Five years ago I composed a score for my first silent film: Buster Keaton’s Sherlock Jr. The score was commissioned by TIFF for the opening of the Bell Lighbox. It was presented as part of their series of live music with silent films. I wrote about the experience on my blog. You can read about it over here. I scored it for a klezmer/jazz sextet. You can watch this wonderful film over here.
I’ll be returning to the Bell Lightbox on Friday, November 28 to accompany The Lost World with my own score for piano and harmonium. It’s a fun film featuring stop action animation. Think Jurassic Park 1925. I’m looking forward to it! Here’s the link for tickets.
